Hello! It's Been A While!

Hello!

It's been a long while. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to get from this blog - do people still use blogs? Do people still read them? I don't know.

But I have long been thinking about my 'online presence' and 'doing me' for me and only me. So I am making some changes! One of those is an overhaul of my YouTube schedule, regular Instagram postings and restarting my blog - right here! Plus some other exciting changes coming soon.

I want my blog to be a place where I share all things ScrappyAdam - scrapbooking, card making (yes, who'd have thought it!!!), life, social media, shopping, storage, organisation... all of it and a place to share with those interested.

So, let's do this, slowly over time but let's do this!

Adventure! Doodlebug Fun at The Park!

Hello! Happy Monday! Welcome back to the Papermaze blog. ScrappyAdam with you today! I am working with Doodlebug 'Fun at The Park' for October and I have to admit, this is another favourite collection for sure - so cute!

I took inspiration from a sketch from Lisa Sikorski at Scrap a Sketch and a challenge from Dotty About Flair and decided on three papers for my background - Mini Dot (the red that the layout is matted on) and Say Cheese and Movie Stars for the three torn background elements.

It's quite a simple layout. For the background, I tore both papers together to ensure I got the correct tear on both papers and then used two parts of the B-Side of Say Cheese for the top and bottom and one part of Movie Stars for the middle.

I went crazy with my matting and have six mats on the photo using various papers from the collection.

I decided to create a shaker pocket for the left of the photo. This was simply done by cutting a frame from B-Side of Mini Dots and a 3x4" piece for the back and then using some acetate to cover and some Buttons Galore and More Mickey Heads as the shaker element. I added a Shaker Pop from the collection on top of the shaker element.

It was then a case of getting to work digging for embellishments! I opted to use some flair from Dotty About Flair for added dimension and they matched perfectly! Most of the embellishments came from the two ephemera packs - chit chat and odds and ends. I did also make use of the enamel sprinkles and some stickers too! I have used lots of phrase strips and banners. My title came from the chit chat pack.

There is a YouTube video with this layout if you'd like to take a look, you'll find that here. You can find the full collection here as well as all the Doodlebug goodies here

Don't forget, it's the Papermaze Autumn Sale right now - there's tons of goodies at 50% off (I am finding it hard to resist!!).

I'll see you back here for some more Fun at The Park next week.

Stay safe and take care!

Vintage Costal #3 - Sun Sea & Sand

 Hello! Happy Monday!

ScrappyAdam back with you at Papermaze today, finishing up September with my third Vintage Costal layout!

I did bring in a couple of elements from 49 + Market's Beached Collection and the older release of Vintage Costal because it all works together so well!

I started with a sheet from the Basic Kit which have a lovely slight distressed look. Using a mix of scraps and 6x8" Paper Pads from both collections, I cut 9 squares at 4" to make a grid. I also inked the edges with some blank ink

I added two photos - matting them on a 6x8" sheet, cutting the photos down to slightly less than 6x4"s and set about creating some clusters around the page and photos. I wanted each square to be a little feature without overshadowing the photos.

I am a big fan of dimension on my pages - it does mean bulky layouts and bulky albums but I love the dimension and different textures! So, I am a fan of the very dimensional layered stickers, the foam stickers and the chipboard - so they all feature on my layout here!

Of course, more is more with me and so I also brought in the adhesive brads, sticker book and element stickers. I also used a netting style die cut piece from Beached.

I used a combination of foam and flat stickers for my Sun, Sea and Sand title and finished off with some flair from Dotty About Flair.

Thanks so much for joining me today - I hope you have a brilliant week and look out for lots more inspiration coming up!

Stay safe, take care.

Vintage Costal #1 - Crashing Waves

Welcome back to Papermaze! ScrappyAdam back with you today and I have a few layouts coming up using the amazing re-release from Simple Stories, Simple Vintage Costal. I loved this collection when it was first released and have some of the product from then such as the smaller sticker book and chipboard frames but the additions to the collection such as the foam stickers and layered stickers are simply stunning!

Whilst the collection pack has sold out, everything else (including all individual papers) are in stock right now so I would go take a look for sure!

This layout is extra special for me as it marks the start of my YouTube Channel! So, I am happy to say that there is a video for this layout! I am trialling the format and I don't know if people will want to see me scrap and how my mind works but it is exciting nonetheless! I am also taking part in a video a day series in September so this layout was inspired by a sketch as my starting point.

For this layout, I have used Paradise Found and what I love about this collection is most of the papers do the work for you and are fantastic for layering on top! I have also used foam stickers, layered stickers, floral bits and pieces (which are amazing), adhesive brads, chipboard stickers and the sticker book... so everything basically!!

Those eagle eyes among you will notice there are a couple of tiny pieces from 49 & Market's Beached too!

I have used three photos which are 5x4" and two at 3.5x3.5" and backed simply on white cardstock

I have a large title which should read 'Crashing Waves' but at a glance very much reads as 'Crashing Wales' but that simply adds to the page and is the foam design!

I have also created three main clusters in a sort of triangle around the page - to the right of the photo, upper left of the photo's and top right of the page. The floral bits and pieces are stunning for layering especially when added with lots of extra goodies!

That's it for today. Thanks for joining me and I will be back soon with another Beach layout!

Let's Go Anywhere: Photoplay Collections

Good Morning! ScrappyAdam back with you today and I am continuing my mix and match of Photoplay - and loving it - they all match so wonderfully!

Those eagle eyed amongst you will see that I have brought in a few stickers from another collection on this layout because they worked so well and I used a few from Echo Park's Scenic Route Sticker Book!

I started with a sheet from Photoplay's America The Beautiful - Celebrate as my background as I loved the dark blue star background.

I cut a large circle from Photoplay's 'Little Boys Have Big Adventures - You're a Star' and used this as a base for my background, following a Pagemaps sketch I then added a strip of the same paper but the B-Side, matted my photos on a paper from Birds of Feather and a cut apart card from Time to Travel

Then the fun bit - embellishments!

I used flair from Dotty About Flair and lots of bits from all the various Photoplay collections to add clusters roughly in each corner of my photos - a sticker from Echo Park did sneak in again!

That's it for this one - fairly simple but I love the result!

I will be back soon but in the meantime take care and happy scrapping!

Time to Travel to Wales with Photoplay Collections

Good Evening and welcome back to Papermaze! ScrappyAdam here with you sharing my first layout of July! I can't quite believe we are in July already! Where has 2021 gone!?

Have you seen all the new collections instore from Photoplay? There are so may to choose from - it's hard to decide which to go for... so I went with them all! I have started the month off with 'Time to Travel' and added in some patterned paper from Snail Mail and Birds of a Feather! The latter two collections mix together perfectly for sure.

I started this layout with some inspiration from Scrap Squad's 12 Days of Summer Lifts and I decided to have a play with Day 7. I absolutely love this design and will be playing with it again soon! The original layout which I took inspiration from/scrap-lifted had just the one photo but I adapted it and used two photos. That's what is great about taking inspiration from scrap-lifts - you can lift it exactly or change it to match your style, your photos, your stash!

Do you ever use layouts from other creatives or sketches as inspiration start points for your scrapbooking? Or do you prefer to start your own way? I have to admit, I never got on with either but I am finding it great fun using both and adapting it to my photos, stash and more is more style!

So, I started with a full sheet of the B-Side of 'Pack Your Bags' as my background. I took a Pinkfresh chevron stamp and stamped chevrons in two areas - coming out (approx.) from where my photos/clusters/layers will be and added a 1" strip of 'Tourist Mode' across the page - slightly more upwards than centre. This red strip is actually one of the four 6x6" patters on the B-Side of Tourist Mode and so I simple adhered them together and then stretched them to make it look like it goes from one side to the other! You can see the join in the middle but I am ok with that!

I went crazy with lots of patterned papers - I started off with sticking with the inspiration layout then went my own way, cutting lots of different papers in different sizes.

I used two 3x4" photos - one on each side, I didn't mat my photos since there were already a lot of patterned paper layers. There are lots of torn paper layers too!

Then it was my favourite part - embellishments! I fussy cut a few cars and caravans from 'Let's Go' which are perfect for fussy cutting. They seemed appropriate as we were travelling for a short caravan break!

I mixed up embellishing from the stickers and ephemera. I added in some Bramble Fox cars and geotags as well as three flair from Dotty About Flair. I did bring in some stickers from Echo Park too as well as some washi tape.

Thanks for joining me today. I will be back soon with another Photoplay layout - using another new collection! Until then, take care and stay safe!

Arcade Fun & Games with Echo Park Let's Go Anywhere

Hello, another evening edition on the Papermaze blog with ScrappyAdam

I am still using Echo Park's Let's Go Anywhere and have a fairly simple layout for you today - it goes to show I can do quick and simple! This collection is very much a travel collection but I wanted to show you don't necessarily have to document travel memories! I have documented some fun at the arcades when we went bowling!

I started with a sheet of white cardstock to add a border to a sheet of the B-Side of the 3x4 Journaling Cards and cut two strips - one at 3" from the B-Side of Pack Your Bags and a strip of cameras from the Cameras paper. My photos are matted on the woodgrain paper which is the B-Side of Take Me Away - the photos, which are two 6x4", printed with quite a thick white border which I decided to leave on to help the photos stand out with the black background.

I added a cluster to the right of my photo using two chipboard frames topped with a chipboard piece and some stickers from the 12x12 Element Stickers and the Sticker Book

I took some Thickers from my stash, mixing two, for my title and an ampersand from a third set. I added a few puffy stickers from Bella BLVD, the McIntosh stickers along with a red flair from Dotty About Flair.

Finally adding a couple of bits on the photos directly and to the left and then I decided to tear a piece to the top right as it was looking a little bare and added some strip stickers and a Dotty About Flair flair.

That was this layout done - unusually simple for me - and quite a quick one too. I'll be back with another layout very soon and there's so much on the blog right now so do pop and see all the other inspiration from the fab design team!

Stay safe, take care and see you soon.

Echo Park - Let's Go Anywhere - Spotting Jodrell Bank

Welcome back to the my blog!

ScrappyAdam here with you for an evening edition blog post for a change! This month, I am using the brilliant Let's Go Anywhere from Echo Park which has just been added to the shop. It's a fantastic collection full of black and white with red and woodgrain - I am loving the monochrome feel of it.

'Spotting Jodrell Bank'

For this layout, I wanted to use the Forest Stencil and also used an arrow stencil from Safe Travels so I used some black ink and the two stencils to create two border strips across the page. I then used four strips of patterned paper, torn into strips from the collection and added in a washi tape for good measure and another pop of red!

I then added two strips from top to bottom, a strip of the B-Side of Cameras and a strip of the B-Side of See the World on top.

I used the 6x6" pad to back four 3x4" photos and placed these two-together in the middle of the page and decided to use stickers and chipboard to add some detail below the bottom photograph.

I have used Alpha's from the sticker book along with some from my stash to create the title to the top left of the page, nestled into the stencilling and overlapping the photo.

I decided to utilise some 'empty' space on the photos by adding sticker, bradschipboard and enamel dots. I have also added in two flair from Dotty About Flair.

This collection is absolutely
brilliant and I am loving creating with it. It's a big change for me to use limited colour but the black and white with pops of red and woodgrain make a refreshing change!

I will be back later in June with another Let's Go Anywhere project and in the meantime, have a look at all the other fantastic layouts! Do take a look at the collection, it's all in stock currently but I can't imagine it will be for very long - such a different collection!

Stay safe, take care and happy scrapping!

Double Disney Collections! Magic at Chef Mickey's

Welcome back to the Papermaze Blog! ScrappyAdam with you today with another layout using a mix of Echo Park and Simple Stories. For this layout, I have used an exclusive sketch from Dotty About Flair as my initial inspiration as it just grabbed me and I wanted to use that blue background!

I started off with the Happy Magic Memories paper from Say Cheese Main Street which was this fab ledger paper in blue with some red lines. The sketch basically called for a strip of patterned paper across the middle and then lots of little strips from the middle to the bottom. I used a variety of papers from the Say Cheese 6x8" Paper Pad and the Echo Park A Magical Place 6x6" Mega Pad. For the strips across the middle I used a strip of Smile Words, white cardstock, B Side of Balloons and B Side of Here We Go.

I have used two 4x4" photos which I have matted on Full of Smiles and then a longer strip of Here We Go, the red side once again and for this second mat, I have torn the top and bottom - I do really like the texture and look of torn paper on layouts!

The base of my layout done, it was then a case of embellishing!

I have used a combination of embellishments from both collections. I have used the BradsSticker BookEphemera and Elements Sticker from Echo Park as well as a Chipboard from an older Echo Park collection and then some stickers, foam stickers and ephemera from Simple Stories. I have also added two flair from Dotty About Flair and a puffy sticker!

I added my title with alpha's from the Echo Park sticker book and "Magic" was from the 12x12" Stickers from Simple Stories.

Finally, I felt like the top right was missing something and so I layered five banner pieces from the collections with a scrap of patterned paper and two phrase stickers which pulled the layout together and finished it off!

This layout is part of an album/section all about our character dining at Chef Mickey's and so there isn't any journaling on this page as there is/will be on other pages.

I am going to carry on with this Disney combo kit into June as I have so much left and I am working on a smaller album to share with you through June!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to have a read of the blog today! Take care, stay safe and see you all back here soon! Happy Scrapping!

Happy Birthday with a Disney Kit!

 Happy Saturday!

Adam, aka ScrappyAdam here with a new Disney layout using a combination of Echo Park and Simple Stories Disney inspired collections. Anyone that has followed me over on Instagram or Facebook will know I love scrapping Disney - both with and without Disney inspired collections and I have a lot of both Echo Park and Simple Stories from Papermaze left so I decided to combine them for some layouts and, hopefully, something a bit different too!

One thing I will say, bear in mind that Simple Stories tend to use a cream base for their Say Cheese collections whereas Echo Park tend to use a white base. I personally don't mind this mix but I know some scrappers won't be keen!

I started with a full sheet of the Balloons paper from Echo Park's 'A Magical Place' using the black star reverse side for a 1/2" border around the page with the 4x4 Elements from Simple Stories' Say Cheese Main Street on top. I decided to use the reverse of one of my favourite papers from A Magical Place; Strike a Pose (those cameras!!) as a base for my photo and embellishments on the page.

I love that Echo Park now have two 6x6 pads - their usual one and then a 'mega' pad! This is the same but has 6x6 solids and three of each design. Of course, I got the mega pad - and it's brilliant and Papermaze are stocking it! I used some papers from this pad as well as Say Cheese scraps to layer up around and to the bottom of the photo. I matted my photo once and then decided to add two further mats and tore the bottom to add a bit of extra texture.

It was then a case of embellishing which I love! I do love layering lots of paper and using patterned paper background but embellishments are so much fun!

I had lots to choose from but kept it relatively simple - for me anyway!

I used embellishments from both collections including some chipboardstickers and ephemera and enamel dots. I also added some fab Bramble Fox perspextives - those Mickey heads are so cute! I love the Echo Park chipboard - so crisp and white background!

I'm loving mixing these two collections and will be back with some more fun scrapping with it very soon! I'm hoping to use this Disney mash up kit to make a little album which I hope to share with you all soon!

In the meantime, pop to the blog and check out the amazing inspiration from the Papermaze Design Team - there is so much scrappy goodness right here on the blog! Take care, stay safe and I will see you all soon!

Hello! It's Been A While!

Hello! It's been a long while. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to get from this blog - do people still use blogs? Do people still...
